The University of Liverpool are seeking an outstanding individual to increase the profile and effectiveness of research in health informatics. The post will be a Chair configured as a Professorship at the University and an Honorary Consultant position will be offered at one of their partner Trusts if the successful applicant is clinically qualified.
The purpose of this position is to deliver an internationally competitive programme of academic leadership, high-quality Health Informatics research and research-led education. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to several programmes of research and provide input to its teaching.
They will collaborate with the MRC Health eResearch Centre (HeRC) and the Farr Institute, but will also be encouraged to to develop a critical mass of research within their own research group, and through collaborations locally, to allow Liverpool to become recognized a key player in this increasingly important area of research nationally and internationally. Given the strengths within Liverpool, they will particularly welcome applications from individuals with an interest and/or experience in personalized health (or precision medicine) research, which is a University wide theme.
