Warwick is a leading university, forward-looking and ambitious, where the starting point is always ‘anything is possible’. We consistently perform strongly in the UK league tables, and we’re as respected for boundary-breaking research as for teaching and business collaborations – our pursuit of excellence and intellectual curiosity is tireless. We strive to lead rather than follow and are renowned for our entrepreneurialism and cosmopolitan outlook.
WMG’s Institute for Digital Healthcare (IDH) at the University of Warwick is a unique centre that works at the interface of academia, industry and the National Health Service (NHS). Initially formed as a joint initiative of WMG, the Warwick Medical School and local NHS trust, it is focused on using technology to improve patient care while reducing cost.
IDH is seeking candidates for a post of Professor of Healthcare Data Analytics, who will report directly to Professor Lord Bhattacharyya, WMG’s Chairman. You will be a senior researcher with an established track record in developing and applying methodology for the analysis of biomedical and healthcare data, and have an international recognition for published work as well as a sustained history of obtaining grant funding. Your training and specific area of experience may lie in biostatistics, statistics, computer science or applied mathematics, but demonstrated impact on real-world clinical problems and data is a must.
Research topics that are of special interest include methodology for massive clinical data streams that emanate from the NHS analysis, large scale epidemiological studies that attempted to tease apart effects of interest from multifarious confounds, as well as causal inference methods for such studies.
